Purbanchal Gastrocon 2012

The IBHI had co-sponsored the PURBANCHAL GASTROCON 2012 held in Bhubaneswar on August 11, 12, 2012.Participants included Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Endoscopists, Physicians and trainees from all over India were.

Abstracts were invited for the IBHI Young Innovator’ Award. The best paper was awarded a prize of Rs. 25,000/-. Postgraduates and Ph.D students studying/doing research in Medical Colleges/Research Institutions in Eastern India were eligible for this award. The last date for abstract submission was August 5, 2012. Each institution has been encouraged to send a maximum of 3 entries. From the abstracts, 5 papers will be invited for oral presentation during the IBHI session at Bhubaneswar. The presenters were intimated about the selected abstracts.

The presenters selected for the IBHI session were provided with travel grant/reimbursement for AC II class to-and fro travel and budget accommodation by the Organising Committee. The presenters were allotted 5 minutes for presentation of his/her work. This was be followed by 2 minutes of question time.

  • Prof. S. P. Singh, Prof & Head, SCBMC, Orissa.

The PURBANCHAL GASTROCON 2012 was organised by Prof. Dr. S.P. Singh, Chairman, Kalinga Gastroenterology Foundation and Twin City Gut Club (Bhubaneswar). Prof. Dr. S.P.Singh is the Secretary General, Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL), President Elect, Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG).
